I think it’s safe to say that I’m not a politically-minded person. In the same way that I’m not a financially-minded person – a lot of the detailed numbers, budgets and financial strategies go over my head until one day I stare at my bank balance and realise I have 10 cents left to my name and oh my goodness, how did that happen?
Nevertheless, I don’t have to fully understand the ins and outs of government policies to know that the world is hurting in a big way right now. And my faith in humanity has been shaken by the lack of compassion that I’ve seen from world leaders, certain communities and also people I know personally who have very divisive views when it comes to the treatment of our fellow man.
So it was timely that I stumbled upon this quote, because not only is it a great mood booster, it’s also a good kick in the pants (at least for me) to start being the change we want to see in the world. And since finding it, I’ve seen so many people fighting for that sunshine, that it gives me hope for a brighter future. I hope it does the same for you too when things get you down.
