The jellyfish exhibit has always been one of my favourite parts of the aquarium. Most visitors head straight for the more exciting displays like the sharks or turtles, but I could stare at jellyfish all day.
Maybe I’m just strange (haha okay fine, I’m definitely strange) but I just can’t get over how spectacular these creatures are. Take a look at the jellyfish tank the next time you find yourself in the aquarium to see what I mean; aside from the fact that they come in so many different shapes and sizes, these elegant floaty beings can glow in the dark, display spectacular colours and many are even see-through! Pretty amazing yes?
This also makes them the perfect candidate for sketching! Although my design skills couldn’t capture their luminescence, it was a whole lot of fun playing around with shapes and colours when drawing up these little guys. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough to stumble across a pastel purple polka dot jellyfish – that’d totally make my day! 😉
