While Halloween isn’t as big over here in Australia as it is in the US, I still have a few kids (and adults!) turn up on my front porch, bucket in hand, waiting patiently for me to dish out candy.
And while I could just hand over the goods in their store bought plastic bags, it’s not half as much fun as spending a little time wrapping them nicely and seeing the expressions on the faces of the trick or treaters as they arrive at the door. 🙂
If you’re a fan of Halloween or printables (or both), try out this super easy project out for size!
Materials
- White A4 card
- Scissors or a craft knife
- Bone folder / paper scorer
- Ruler
- Stapler
- Food grade cello bags (I used ones that are 12cm / 4.75″ in width)
- Tasty treats 🙂
Step 1
Download the ‘Halloween treat bag topper’ file at the end of this post, print it out onto white card and then score along the ‘fold here’ line for each of the bag toppers with your ruler and bone folder.
Step 2
Cut out each treat bag topper using scissors or a ruler and craft knife and then fold them along the score lines you made in Step 1.
Step 3
Fill the cello bags with your favourite Halloween sweet treats. 🙂
Step 4
Fasten each treat bag topper to one of the candy-filled cello bags using a stapler.
And that’s it – pretty simple hey? These bad boys aren’t just good for doling out treats at the door on Halloween… they’d also make great favours if you’re having a party AND they’re an excellent excuse buy and eat candy, all in the name of ‘crafting’ for Halloween. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone… your secret’s safe with me. 😉
