Yep, you guessed it, It’s been a bit of a stressful week. There’s been lots to do, not enough time and I’ve had to deal with stressed out colleagues, which makes the situation even worse.
Stress is something I always thought I dealt with well because it usually spurs me into action. But lately I’ve been noticing that instead of (or maybe in addition to) being pro-active, I also have a tendency to freak out when I’m under pressure. I won’t sleep, I can’t stop turning things over in my head and I get teary or snarky – which isn’t great because that then stresses out others!
Being on the receiving end of another person’s anxiety this week has helped me to be more aware of my own reaction to stress and how it affects those around me. It’s not a pleasant experience, so I’m going to try to manage my stress levels better from now on. I’m interested to know how you guys manage being under pressure – have you got any pro tips to share?
