When I was a kid, I used to hoard any stationery that came my way like there was a worldwide shortage of the stuff. To this day I don’t quite know why pretty paper, stickers and the like were so precious to me because I almost never ended up using them. Instead, I squirrelled away the good stuff and wrote my letters on mum’s plain notepaper. Go figure!

While I almost never touched my special stationery stash, I nevertheless did write a lot of letters as a kid. And I drew, and scrapbooked, and kept a diary. All of which now makes me feel nostalgic and slightly sad because as I sit here typing this post, I can’t actually recall when I last picked up a pen and wrote to a friend. How times have changed.

And that, my friends, is my very long-winded way of saying I’m starting a new segment to bring snail mail back! I’m calling it ‘write on’ (because nothing is complete without a pun) and each month I’ll be sharing a free printable that you can use to write letters to your friends. Or dress up your planner. Or decorate your envelopes. Anything that requires putting pen to paper really.
